List of Problematic E-Numbers
Although all of the E-numbers listed here have been declared 'safe' by the regulatory authorities, independent studies have shown them to be implicated in having harmful affects on human health, in terms of allergic reactions and adverse affects on children. Some of them have been banned in the U.S. but are still permitted in Europe.
Because it is very difficult to cut out all food additives from your diet, if you suspect you, or your children, are being adversely affected by them, here is a list of those that crop up again and again as being most problematic. These are the most important ones to avoid if you possibly can:

E104 Quinoline yellow
E107 Yellow 2G
E110 Sunset yellow FCF
E120 Cochineal, carminic acid
E122 Carmoisine
E123 Amaranth
E124 Ponceau 4R* (banned in U.S.)
E127 Erythrosine
E128 Red 2G* (banned in E.U. since July 2007)
E129 Allura red
E131 Patent Blue
E132 Indigo carmine
E133 Brilliant blue
E142 Green S
E151 Black
E153 Vegetable carbon
E154 Brown FK
E155 Chocolate brown HT
E319 TBHQ preservative(also called antioxidant)
E320 BHA preservative (also called antioxidant)
E321 BHT preservative (also called antioxidant)
E211 Sodium Benzoate, when combined with any of the following:- E102 Tartrazine, E104 Quinoline Yellow, E110 Sunset Yellow, E122 Carmoisine, E124 Ponceau 4R, E129 Allura Red.
